<p>I started looking for jobs after graduating and it is tough! There are a lot of Designers out there looking for <a href="http://mondaymotivation.togvo.com/tag/work/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag nofollow" title="Posts tagged with Work">work</a> so competition can be stiff. You portfolio has to be pretty good to even get an interview. <a href="http://mondaymotivation.togvo.com/tag/most/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag nofollow" title="Posts tagged with most">Most</a> design jobs these days are in Web so <a href="http://mondaymotivation.togvo.com/tag/that/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag nofollow" title="Posts tagged with That">that</a> definitely doesn&#8217;t help Graphic Designers who aren&#8217;t trained in Flash or web coding.  </p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been trying to gain experience in the field <a href="http://mondaymotivation.togvo.com/tag/more/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag nofollow" title="Posts tagged with More">more</a> than anything because <a href="http://mondaymotivation.togvo.com/tag/that/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag nofollow" title="Posts tagged with That">that</a> is a huge factor for many employers. So, I&#8217;ve done an internship for a publication company, taken on various freelance projects, and now I <a href="http://mondaymotivation.togvo.com/tag/work/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag nofollow" title="Posts tagged with Work">work</a> part-time at a creative and web development company as a Graphic Designer. I still look for jobs all the time though because part-time isn&#8217;t really cutting it.</p>
<p>If you are in it mainly for the money then you will not like this field, at least in the beginning. The higher paying positions are for Senior Designers, Project Managers or Art Directors- <a href="http://mondaymotivation.togvo.com/tag/people/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag nofollow" title="Posts tagged with People">people</a> <a href="http://mondaymotivation.togvo.com/tag/with/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag nofollow" title="Posts tagged with With">with</a> years of experience and in a managing role. It isn&#8217;t a glamorous job and the pay starting out kind of sucks. It may take years or just plain luck to <a href="http://mondaymotivation.togvo.com/tag/make/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag nofollow" title="Posts tagged with Make">make</a> a decent salary in this field.</p>
